“Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children – like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.” [Qur’an 57:20]
Meaning – What if you are finding the meaning of your present life? All the thing you are asking about is your present life which you might think is deceiving you. We all are running after a materialistic life that is full of worldly pleasures and desires like money, cars, jewelry, children, etc. But guess what, all that will turn into nothing one day and will be like a dead plant. This way, God is trying to show you that nothing in this life is permanent and remains forever. However, you should think of your life in the Hereafter rather than a worldly pleasurable life.

Meaning – If you are worried about the things you have done in your life, the good deeds, then God has always seen them. Whatever good actions you have done in this life before death are a treasure, the reward of which will definitely be given by Allah on the day of life judgment. Allah sees all the deeds you have done and rewards everyone the way.
“Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said, “When is the help of Allāh?” Unquestionably, the help of Allāh is near.”

Meaning – Allah is promising that if his servants have gratitude for his blessings, he will always increase those blessings and rewards. This act of gratitude always leads to great divine blessings, from wealth to growth. Whereas, if a person is not grateful and denies Allah’s blessings, then Allah warns of a severe punishment. This is considered a disobedience of God’s commands which can lead to loss and misfortune. This makes the believer understand that ingratitude takes him away from Allah’s mercy.
Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe” and they will not be tried? ”
Meaning – God always tests the believers. For example, if you have decided to not look for wealth, you will get a lot of it. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.” [Qur’an 2:286]
